Don't forget to complete and return your postal vote!6.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 26th Apr 2010
Over 10,000 people have an opportunity to vote for change in Edinburgh North & Leith as postal votes arrive through letterboxes over the next two days. More and more people have chosen to vote in this important election by post. If you have opted to vote by post, your ballot paper along with instructions on how to return it should arrive very soon. Don't forget to return your vote by May 6th otherwise it will not count. The election here in Edinburgh North & Leith could hardly be closer. At the last election, the Liberal Democrats came a close second to Labour. Pundits now expect an even closer result between the two parties this time round, especially after the Conservatives and SNP admitted defeat. Every single vote, whether its a postal vote or a vote in a polling station, will count this time. Kevin Lang said, "There is a real mood for change here in Edinburgh North & Leith and those people who are voting by post can lead the way by choosing a different kind of politics, one where we return fairness to our society, locally and nationally. "I believe Labour has taken this area for granted for too long. Unemployment is too high with many young people unable to find a job. Too many pensioners still struggle, often having to chose between heating and eating. Too many are still afraid to go out at night because of a fear of crime. "We can begin to change this but only if we vote for change. "I want to be a hard working local Member of Parliament for Edinburgh North & Leith. As someone who lives locally with my wife and daughter, I understand local problems because I have to live with them everyday. With your support, I can be a local MP who really puts local people first and gets things done." Postal voters having until May 6th to get their postal vote returned to the council.
