Sir Ming Campbell joins the local Lib Dem Team at Redbraes Scotland Poland memorial8.53.31pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 28th May 2009
Liberal Democrats from Edinburgh North & Leith were today joined by Sir Menzies Campbell and members of the Polish community for a special visit to the Scotland Poland war memorial in Broughton. Westminster candidate Kevin Lang and Holyrood candidate Alex Cole-Hamilton were also joined by George Lyon, who stands an excellent chance of being elected our new Lib Dem MEP next Thursday. Local Westminster candidate, Kevin Lang said, "We were delighted to welcome Ming to the constituency to visit the memorial, which is a fitting tribute to the long and proud history of cooperation between the two countries. "It was also great to be able to speak with PC Daley and Kasia from the Fort Community Wing to hear about all the excellent work being done to help Polish people to settle in Edinburgh North & Leith." Liberal Democrat Euro candidate George Lyon said, "Thousands of Poles in Edinburgh North & Leith will have an opportunity to vote in next week's European Elections and I hope as many as possible will cast their ballot. "The Liberal Democrats are fighting this Euro election on a promise to work constructively with our European neighbours. Every vote for me and the Lib Dem team on June 4th is a vote for international action to tackle problems such as the economic recession, climate change and crime."
