Lib Dem Elaine Morris says it is a disgrace for local people to have to wait 13 nears for a new crossing.

Local residents in one part of North Edinburgh reacted furiously when the Labour council told them they would have to wait up to 13 years for a new crossing.

Residents in the Wardie and Boswall areas have been campaigning for a new pedestrian crossing on the busy Ferry Road. However, council officials warned that because the area was such a low priority, a staggering 13 year wait might be on the cards.

Local Lib Dem campaigner Elaine Morris has launched a petition campaign for the new crossing. She said, "People have been left astonished and angry by this. Ferry Road is a busy road and there is no safe place here for people to cross. No wonder people are turning away from Labour and to the Lib Dems for positive local action."
