A Bright Future for Scotland - Scottish Liberal Democrats launch pre manifesto8.10.11am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 9th Oct 2006
The Scottish Liberal Democrats have launched their pre-manifesto for next year's Scottish Parliament elections. The document contains key commitments to generate all of Scotland's electricity from renewable sources by 2050. There are also plans to scrap the graduate endowment, which requires Scottish students to pay back money after they have graduated. The Liberal Democrats look set to gain seats in next year's Scottish Parliamentary elections. Liberal Democrats gained Dunfermline & West Fife from Labour earlier in the year and made a major advance in the SNP stronghold of Moray. The party looks set to do particularly well in Edinburgh and following on from the close result with Labour in Edinburgh North & Leith, has made our area a key target for May 2007.
